The first of Adrian Murdoch’s weekly Emperors of Rome series. Monday mornings. Coming to iTunes soon.
The fun is that any Illyrian or other ruffian proclaimed by the legions who was nominally emperor will get the same amount of time as Augustus: two minutes or less. Or that is the theory. As Adrian says, we should be in the middle of the third century by the turn of the year. I hope he goes on at least to Justinian. Or Heraclius.

I gather from Adrian that he is likely to stop in 476. Even before that date, he will be covering only the western emperors. He concedes that there may need to be a middle course between consistency and proportion: minor emperors might be lumped together.
